As a barre instructor, founder Charlotte Hobgood wanted to create grip socks that blended fashion with function. While manifesting her vision, her husband was surfing a Fijian island called Tavarua, better known as Tavi. She also thought of her favorite wine, Pinot Noir, and thus Tavi was created. I like this particular style. The image shown here portrays the item to be darker than it actually is in person but color description is better matched. They are thick and comfortable but don't squeeze uncomfortably or make you sweat and are great for colder days. The grippies are excellent for the various Barre classes I attend. Overall satisfied with this purchase.
